This part of Ethiopia is renowned for its Christian culture, it’s amazing monuments, treasures that go back centuries. The scenic landscape, high pick, planes, winding rivers and spectacular gorges makes it an experience that will be imprinted in the tourists’ minds for the rest of their lives.

 

Ethiopia can boast a wealth of historical and cultural treasures unlike anything else on Earth. Ethiopia is a very different destination and a remarkable tour destination. Ethiopia includes some of the finest mountain scenery in Africa, notably in the Simien Mountains which have been designated a World Heritage Site There are hundreds of rock-hewn churches found in Tigray region built in the 12th to the 15 century, most of them perched in inaccessible mountain tops. Lalibela could be considered as 8th wonder of the world. A cluster of eleven churches divided in to two groups are all hewn out of solid rocks. Further up North is the Gondar town with its 17th-century castles and early medieval age church with fantastic wall paintings.

Morning drive to Addis via Debre Birhan. On the way you pass the Mezezo Escarpment, with a good chance to see the endemic Gelada Baboons. The view down in to the low lands in magnificent. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

In the morning, drive to Kombolcha via Woldia. On the way visiting the lake in the town of Hayk, where you can visit the monastery of St.Stifanos and enjoy the birdlife by the lake. Overnight in Hotel.

In the morning, start your tour of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, visiting the Northwestern Cluster of churches - Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Bet Golgotha (entry not permitted for women). After lunch, continue with the Southeastern Cluster of churches – Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanual, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bet Giyorgis, constructed in honor of the patron saint of Ethiopia – St.George. Overnight in Hotel.

Morning after breakfast drive to Bahirdar. On the way you will visit Amharan tribes, Cultures and Landscape. Lunch in route. Dinner and overnight in Bahirdar.

After Breakfast 8:00AM Drive 32kms South East of Bahirdar and walk up some distance and then proceed to visit the thundering “Tiss-Issat” fall which means Smoking Water in Amharic. Drive back to your hotel for lunch. Afternoon, four hour boat excursion on Lake Tana to visit;

- Ura Kidane Mihret and Zega Peninsual the most beautiful church anywhere in the Tana region. Set within bleak stone walls, the monastery was founded in the 14th century by a saint called Betre Maryam

- Kibran Gabriel (allowed for men only): it is founded in the 13th century by a hermit called Abuna Yohannis. After dinner go to Cultural Night Club (Maskinko Bet) and overnight in Hotel.

Morning after breakfast direct drive to Gondar. After a few break in your hotel, you will start city tour of Gonder – the 17th century Ethiopian capital. Sight-seeing of Gondar town including the castles of King Fasilledas, his open-air bath, the monasteries of Qusquom and Debre Berhan Selassie church with its 16th century paintings and Frescoes. Mid afternoon you will drive to Bahirdar. On the way visiting Amharan Landscape. After noon visiting in Gonder Town and castles. Overnight in Hotel.

Early morning after Breakfast drive for Simien Mountains N.P on the way visiting Fellash village. You will have the day to enjoy the stunning beauty of this National Park, with expansive landscapes and bountiful wildlife. You will be sure to see the gelada baboon, a species endemic to Ethiopia. /you will be having a 3-4 hours trekking / Overnight in the Simien Hotel/Debark.

In the morning, drive to Axum. After stopping for lunch in Adi Arkay, proceed driving through the Tekeze Valley to Axum, home of the ancient Axumite Empire, the Queen of Sheba, and the Ark of the Covenant. Overnight in Axum.

Today will be a full day visits the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was recently erected after being returned from Italy), the Queen of Sheba’s Bath (which supplies water to Axum year-round), King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Unfortunately, no one (except a specially chosen guardian monk) is allowed to enter the chapel where the Ark is kept. Overnight in Hotel.

Morning after breakfast you will fly to Addis after a few break you will start you city tour of Addis Start the trip looking down on Addis Ababa from Entoto Mountain, the capital of Ethiopia before Addis Ababa. Here you will have panoramic views of the city with fresh air from the eucalyptus forests. Here you will visit the Entoto Maryam church and museum. After the visit, proceed down to Addis Ababa via Shiro Meda, the city’s largest market for traditional clothes. Proceed to the campus of Addis Ababa University to the ethnographical museum, with great displays of the many cultures of Ethiopia, housed in the former palace of Haile Selassie. Finish the day with shopping in Merkato, the local marketplace which is said to be Africa’s largest open-air market. Dinner will be in one of the famous Ethiopia Cultural restaurants with cultural live music hosted by Nate tTour.

Overnight in hotel or Depart to your country.
